I just wanted to follow up on one of my previous posts and let everyone know that the peppermint oil actually works! I know that it’s been scientifically proven but I just had to see for myself.
I had two migraines over the weekend. Both times, I put a dabble of the peppermint oil on my temples and forehead (every 15 minutes) until it went away. The migraine went away within half an hour. AMAZING! I made sure to put it on at the first signs of a migraine and there were definitely results. I didn’t have to take Advil a single time this week. Woooooooo!!! So this is GREAT news for anyone interested in a natural alternative to Advil or any other headache/migraine medication.

I spent my morning arranging flowers in this artsy vase. It's one of my favourites. Of course Sadie wouldn't stop jumping off the chair until I gave her a treat. She's a smart one.
What a difference a bouquet of flowers can make in a bedroom! You'll probably notice that I also love seashells and sand. The big seashell behind the vase is from The Bahamas and the sand is from Cuba. Two of my favourite keepsakes (they remind me of summer when it's cold and miserable outside).
Today, as I was bracing myself for the onset of another migraine attack, I came across the most interesting fact about herbal treatments.
Let me start by saying that I am so excited and cannot wait until tomorrow so that I can make a run to the store.
I’ve been the type to get frequent migraine attacks ever since I can remember. I was taking about six liquid gel Advils per week; sometimes more. Otherwise, I would have no choice but to lie down in a pitch dark room, wishing it was sound proof and trying not to throw up all over myself.
I’ve decided to look into herbal treatments for this problem because my guilt grows every time I pop a pill. There’s no way the amount I take can be healthy in the long run.
A Fresh Outlook
Well apparently, peppermint essential oil has been scientifically proven to relieve tension headaches after 15 minutes of application. You are supposed to apply a solution containing 1 part peppermint oil and 9 parts water or alcohol to the forehead and temples every 15-30 minutes.
I’m not sure how I feel about smelling like a candy cane but at this point anything is worth a try.
